At Spotlight Self Tapes, you can count on showcasing the best take of your performance at the highest cinematic level.
Unlike most audition and monologue taping services in New York, we exclusively use top-of-the-line digital cinema equipment (view our standard equipment here) — never DSLRs or “prosumer” light and sound equipment — because we believe professional results require professional tools.
We can accommodate musical theater auditions with an audio file of accompaniment or, with prior arrangement, can move a keyboard into the room (though you’ll need to provide your own accompanist). Our studio-quality audio gear ensures you always sound your best!
If your audition is an Eco-cast, you can log directly into your actors access account in a private window and we’ll upload your audition directly to casting (as well as emailing a copy to you and/or your representation).

10 minutes from scheduled start time
- Up to 2 minutes of material (typically up to 2 pages of standard film/TV sides, 4 pages of sitcom sides, or 1 page of published playscripts)
- 2 takes maximum; time-permitting, additional takes are available at $1/min of material
- Please note, if you wish to review any of your takes, that counts against the 10-minute maximum
- Coaching available at $80/hr

Lite | $45.00
25 minutes from scheduled start time
- Up to 5 minutes of material (typically up to 5 pages of standard film/TV sides, 10 pages of sitcom sides, or 2 pages of published playscripts – email spotlightselftapes@lupoblu.com with your sides if you’re unsure which appointment to book)
- 3 takes maximum; time-permitting, additional takes are available at $1/min of material
- Please note, if you wish to review any of your takes, that counts against the 25-minute maximum
- Coaching available at $80/hr

55 minutes from scheduled start time

- 3 takes maximum; time-permitting, additional takes are available at $1/min of material

Acting Coaching | $80.00
1 hour coaching session
- If you combine a one-hour coaching session with a taping session on the same day, you get 10% off your Video Audition session.
- Add an archival video (NOT suitable for public/industry viewing) of your session for $10.
- Coaching sessions may be held on Zoom, in our studio on 38th Street at 8th Avenue, or in a rehearsal studio (client is responsible for studio rental fees).
General Interview and other In Studio videos
Share your story, shoot footage for internal videos or industrials, or get the spine for a new crowdfunding campaign.
Standard | $80/hr
- Includes basic color correction and the raw footage
- Billed by the hour with a 2-hour minimum
- Editing available through lupo blu for $75/hr (billed by the hour with a two hour minimum) — email us for a specific quote for your project.
